Q: Tell us a little bit about yourself – where you live, about your family, what you did before DE?
A: I live in Mukwonago, Wisconsin with my husband Scott, 4-year-old son Logan, and our baby girl born a few weeks ago! I grew up in a very small town in northern Wisconsin (graduating with a high school class of 11 people!), attended college near Green Bay, and came to DE after working for the Green Bay Packers, a separate non-profit organization, and a landscaping wholesale business.
Q: How long have you been with DE and what brought you here?
A: This April will be 7 years! Before I came to DE, I was stuck in a role I was very unhappy in. On my commute, I would listen to Relevant Radio and I heard an ad for DE. I thought it sounded interesting, so I looked it up and was shocked to discover the home office was a 7 minute drive from where I was living at the time! So I sent in an application, said a Novena to St. Joseph, and received a call from Paul Lubinski on day 9 of the novena.
Q: Who is your favorite saint and why?
A: I have several favorite saints because they’ve interceded for me in obvious ways. Novenas to St. Joseph, St. Therese of Lisieux, Sts. Cosmas and Damien, and St. Rita have all produced tangible results and I feel connected to all of them in some capacity.
Q: What is your favorite game (board game, cards, or sports!)?
A: There are very few games I don’t like. My husband and I love board games – the more strategic, the better! Castles of Burgundy and 7 Wonders Duel are two of our favorites. We’re also really into sports – particularly football and baseball.
Q: If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?
A: I would go back to Rome in a heartbeat! But I’d also love to explore Switzerland and Greece.
Q: What is a hobby you enjoy?
A: I call myself a serial hobbyist because I haven’t met many hobbies I don’t like. I enjoy outdoor hobbies including fishing, camping, gardening, hiking, etc. I also love reading, painting, crocheting, creating jewelry with polymer clay, cross stitching, photography, and basically any other craft project.
Q: What is something most people don’t know about you?
A: I designed a specialty license plate! You can see my design traveling along roadways in the state of Wisconsin.
Q: Is a hotdog a sandwich?
A: No, it’s a taco, obviously. It’s surrounded on three sides.
Q: If you could have any pet in the world, what pet would you have and what would you name it?
A: I love otters! They’re so smart! If I had one, I’d probably name it Sir Otterly Von Splooshington, or “Sploosh” for short.
Q: What do you love most about DE?
A: The people! The ladies in Home Office are some of my closest friends. It’s so nice to be surrounded by lovely, faith-filled people every day.
