Q: Tell us a little bit about yourself – where you live, about your family, what you did before DE?
A: I live near the Home Office with my husband Dave and our three kids with one more due in June! My background is in advertising/marketing and graphic design. Before DE I worked at a local Catholic high school in the Advancement Department and did freelance graphic design work.
Q: How long have you been with DE and what brought you here?
A: November 2025 was my 6 year anniversary at Decided Excellence! I started as an independent contractor designer and joined the Home Office design team a few months later. I heard about the job through my friends Maryellen and Nick Scanlan!
Q: Do you have a story behind your name? If you got to choose your name, what would it be?
A: My parents could only agree on the name Karri – but listed out all the ways to spell it – Carrie, Kari, Karrie, Kerry, Cari, etc. and were between the most common “Carrie” and the least common “Karri”. Obviously the least common won out. Hated it as a kid because those pre-made keychains and necklaces never had my name, but now I love it! I’ve only ever met 2 other people with my same spelling.
Q: What is a hobby you enjoy?
A: Dave and I love going to comedy shows. We live close to the Improv comedy club so we often go there for date nights to see well-known and up-and-coming comedians. We love to watch comedy specials and Saturday Night Live. Laughing is the best!
Q: What is your favorite title of Mary?
A: Our Lady of the Rosary
Q: Where is the coolest place you have traveled?
A: Dave and I went to Italy for our honeymoon in 2017. We visited Rome, Assisi, Florence and Venice. We would go spend a week again in Assisi in a heartbeat! The history, landscape and architecture was amazing. It felt like walking through a real-life Beauty and the Beast scene.
